Feralization accumulates while a Shell remains exposed to the beams of nearby Feral Drones. While initial buildup may seem manageable, prolonged exposure allows the effect to intensify, increasing the risk posed to the affected Shell. The longer drones remain nearby and continue applying their beams, the greater the chance of dangerous levels of Feralization developing.
Feral Drones are most commonly encountered in areas where visibility is limited and environmental clutter provides natural cover. Although individual drones rarely represent a significant threat, their tendency to gather around nearby Shells can quickly become hazardous if left unmanaged. Multiple drones maintaining beam contact can rapidly increase Feralization exposure, turning an otherwise routine operation into a dangerous situation.
When drones begin gathering, they can be eliminated using a Small Cutting Laser, Stutter Gun, or Needle Gun. Reducing the number of active drones decreases local Feralization pressure and helps create safer conditions for continued exploration, salvage operations, and travel through hazardous regions of space.
