Rifts will despawn more frequently, and this happens dynamically; whether a rift has been fully depleted or left completely untouched, it can despawn over time.
Once a Rift despawns, a new Rift will take longer to appear in that same spot, encouraging Riders to keep moving rather than waiting in one place.
Resource Availability: Variety and Value
The balance of Crude acquisition has shifted to reward speed and discovery:
Expanded Variants: Microrifts can now spawn more variants of Crude Rifts, increasing the diversity of resources available.
Reduced Quantity per Rift: The total fuel quantity per individual Rift has been reduced. Each Rift is now a quick interaction rather than a long-term mining operation.
Although each rift contains less fuel, Microrifts are now on average more valuable in terms of overall fuel availability due to the faster respawns and increased variants.
Strategic Approach: Explore Further Afield
Because each Microrift contains less fuel and follows this dynamic despawn cycle, Rifts in highly populated areas will deplete and disappear much faster. If you cannot find Microrifts in your System, you should consider ranging further afield to seek out Crude.
