What Are Dormant Stargates?
Dormant Stargates are ancient, offline structures scattered across the Frontier. Unlike Live Stargates that offer instant travel, these gates have fallen into disrepair and cannot be used until restored.
How to Restore a Dormant Stargate
Step 1: Approach the gate and press F to open the Stargate Rebuild Window.
Step 2: Contribute the required materials:
- Carbon Weave
- Printed Circuits
- Reinforced Alloys
Note: Items may vary.
Step 3: Confirm your deposit.
Note: Deposited items cannot be withdrawn. Contributions are permanent.
Step 4: Track community progress. Restoration is a collective effort. The progress bar shows total contributions toward the 1,000 jump capacity.
What Happens When Restored?
- The gate activates and becomes a usable Live Stargate
- New routes open to previously isolated star systems
- Riders can use it for fast travel, regardless of who contributed
- Creates fresh opportunities for exploration, trade, and competition
One-Way Ticket
Fixing this gate gets you out. It doesn't get you back.
The other side is a whole separate gate with its own rebuild job. Until someone fuels that one too, you're not coming home the way you came.
Plan accordingly; leave your gear behind or be ready to rebuild the far side ASAP.
