A DirectX Diagnostic (DxDiag) report is a simple yet powerful tool that helps the Player Experience Team understand your system’s hardware, drivers, and software environment. When you’re experiencing crashes, performance drops, or compatibility issues, this report can provide crucial insights that help us solve your problem faster.

What is a DxDiag Report?

The DxDiag report gathers key information about your computer, such as:

  • Graphics card and driver versions

  • Processor and memory details

  • Windows version

  • DirectX components and configurations

  • Any system errors related to graphics or audio

This information helps us pinpoint problems and speed up troubleshooting.

If you’re asked to submit a DxDiag report, don’t worry, the process takes only a minute. Follow the steps below:

How to Create a DxDiag Report

Follow these easy steps to generate and save your DxDiag file:

  • Open the Run Window
    • Press Windows Key + R on your keyboard.
    • This will bring up the Run dialog box.
  • Launch the DxDiag Tool
    • Copy and paste the following command into the Run box, then press Enter: dxdiag
  • Let the Tool Gather Information
    • The DirectX Diagnostic Tool will open and begin scanning your system.
    • Wait until the progress bar in the bottom-left corner completes.
  • Save the Report
    • Once the scan is finished:
      • Click Save All Information in the bottom-right corner.
      • Choose a location on your computer where you’d like to save the file.
      • The report will be saved as a .txt file.
      • Attach the File to Your Support Ticket

Locate the saved DxDiag file and upload it as an attachment to your ticket on our Help Center.
This will help our team diagnose your issue as quickly as possible.
