Using the Star Map in Frontier: A Guide for Explorers

The Star Map serves as a comprehensive navigational and strategic tool, providing a detailed visualization of the Frontier galaxy. It offers multiple layout options, filtering methods, and data overlays to help users interpret the vast expanse of Frontier efficiently. Whether for exploration, trade, industry, or warfare, the map adapts to various needs, ensuring optimal decision-making.

The Star Map is a powerful resource for planning routes, monitoring assets, and understanding the geography of space. Riders can:

  • Navigate Between Systems
  • Analyze Regions and Constellations
  • Identify Key Locations
  • Enhance Safety and Coordination
  • See your ships' direct jump range
  • See your or your tribes smart gate network

Understanding the Frontier Star Map

Below is an overview of the different features and settings available, ensuring a seamless spacefaring experience:

  • Solar Systems: When you open the map, there will be many solar systems displayed as small dots. Every solar system will have a unique name, such as "B.7HL.QCB" or "P:1AK9"
  • Travel: Right-click on a solar system in your region you wish to travel to and hit "set destination". Should you want to jump between regions, find a solar system in your region closest to a solar system of the other region, head over there, and then jump to it via right-clicking it on the map and selecting "Jump to".
  • Personal Assets: In this section, you can see where your assets are located, including the Keeps where you have stored your items. You can also view your travel history on the Star Map and monitor the locations of your fleet members.
  • Industry: This is where you will be manufacturing your modules/ships/fuel from the resources you have collected from space (Note, you can also manufacture in Printers in space).
  • Services: In this section, you can view all readily available manufacturing, fitting, repair, and reprocessing facilities within Keeps in Frontier.
  • Focus Current Location: Instantly redirects the view to your current position in the galaxy, ensuring quick orientation and navigation.
