Ascension Protocol: Power That Carries Beyond Death
This is the first step toward your Transhumanist power fantasy, and it all comes down to one thing: Memories.
In this system, every Shell you fly isn’t just a body; it’s a temporary build. As you play, your Shell collects Memories that make it stronger. But Shell don’t last forever.
If you die, that run is over.
If you Ascend before dying, you get to keep part of that power permanently.
How Progression Works (The Simple Version)
Your gameplay naturally feeds into this loop:
Play the game
Mine, Explore, Fight, Repair - everything you do builds Memories.Power up your current Shell
These memories increase the skill levels of your active Shell.Push your luck
Keep going to get stronger… or risk losing it all.Ascend before death
Sacrifice your current Shell to lock in some memories as permanent Character upgrades.Come back stronger
Every future Shell benefits from ascended memories.
Or…
Die
And lose all the Memories you hadn’t ascended yet.
Memories: Your Real Progression
You can track your progress in the Character Sheet → Memories tab. This is where your playstyle starts to matter.
There are four core skills, and you level them up simply by doing what you enjoy in the game. No menus. No artificial grinding.

Memory Capacity & Ascension
As you play, your Memory Capacity fills up. When it hits 100%, your clone is maxed out.
That’s when you can trigger the Ascension Protocol.
What Happens When You Ascend?
Your current Shell is retired
Your consciousness transfers to a fresh Shell
You choose which Memories to permanently save
Those Memories become Character-Level skill upgrades
Important note:
This is not self-destruct. You’re not dying; you’re evolving. Think of it as hitting Prestige, but with real consequences.
Choosing What to Keep
If you’ve trained multiple skills, Ascension makes you choose:
Pick the Memory set you want to lock in
Confirm your choice
Complete Ascension
You can’t keep everything, so your decisions shape your long-term build. Specialize, diversify, or adapt - your call.
Once Ascension is complete, check your Character Sheet to see the new permanent bonuses applied to all future clones.
